Summary: This article details process for the user to create and apply Contractual Charges in the new Movie Magic Budgeting program.
Solution:
Usually, contractual charges are placed on the Topsheet of your budget after the last break level and before the budget grand total.
- Once inside of your budget, right-click and select Apply/Create Contractual Charge. The Budget Setup window will appear, with the Charges section selected.
- On the left-hand side, under My Charges, click the + Charge button. A new charge will appear.
- First, enter a Name for your new charge. An example as shown in the below video to create a bond fee charge.
- Determine if the Charge Type will be Percent or a Flat Fee.
- Enter the percentage or amount. If desired, enter an Account Number for the charge.
- Now, you will have the option of excluding some of your budget from the new charge. You can do this by either manually entering an amount to be excluded, or selecting from the groups you have established.
- To exclude an amount, click the Exclude Amt button. A new row will appear.
- Enter a Description and then the Total amount to be excluded from your new charge.
- To exclude a group or groups, click the Exclude Groups button. A list of groups will appear.
- Select the desired groups to be excluded from the contractual charge.
- To be able to see the Total amount excluded on your Topsheet, comprising both manually entered amounts and selected groups, select the Excluded Amount checkbox.
- Once you are finished, if you would like to apply the charge, click the Apply Charge button. A message will appear indicating the charge has been applied to your budget.
- Click the Close button. In your Topsheet, you will be able to see the new contractual charge, with the excluded amount parenthetically displayed.
