Summary: This article details process for the user to apply Fringes in the new Movie Magic Budgeting program.
Solution:
After you have added your Fringes through the Budget Setup screen, you can apply them to your budget.
- Once inside of your budget, drill down to the Details level by going to any row and clicking on the associated number on the left-hand side. You may also use the Movie Magic Budgeting 7 shortcut keys.
- Once at the Detail level, you can display the Fringes column by clicking the icon with three dots at the top-right and selecting the checkbox for Fringes.
- Then, ensure that the Tools window has fringes selected, by clicking on the Fr tab. Here, you will see all your available fringes.
- Select the rows in the budget to which you wish to apply fringes. You can select multiple lines by holding the Shift key.
- As an example, shown in the below video, select all lines pertaining to Prep, Shoot, and Wrap.
- Go back in the Tools window and under Fringes, select the fringes you wish to apply.
- As you select the different fringes, the aggregate total percentage will appear at the bottom of this window.
- To ensure the selected fringes are hitting the designated cutoffs, you will need to designate the fringe range.
- While the rows are still highlighted in your budget, go to the Tools window and click the +Range button. A bracket for these lines will appear your budget.
- Depending on your selections, you may see a reduction in the aggregate total percentage.
- To remove fringes, you can select the individual lines and then, in the Tools window, deselect the fringes you wish to remove, or remove all with the Clear button.
- Similarly, you can remove lines from the Fringe Range by clicking -Range button.
