Solution:

  1. First, access the Details Level of an account in your budget. From your Top Sheet, select an account by double-clicking the number on the left-hand side of any row.
  2. Then double-click on any account to see the detail. You may also use Movie Magic Budgeting 7 shortcut keys.
  3. In this example, select the Unit Production Manager (UPM). If using the default view, the first column you will see is Description.
  4. Enter a description for this individual, such as their name.
  5. Since you are dealing with a person, you will be calculating the labor.
  6. The next set of columns will be used to determine the amount of time worked and the corresponding rate.
  7. If the UPM is working 4 days, then enter 4 in the Amount column, and in the Units column, you can select units of work. By keying in D, the program will display a list of possible choices, include Days.
  8. Next is the multiplier column, which will take the previously entered amount of work and multiply it by the next column, which is Rate.
  9. Enter the daily rate of the Unit Production Manager. The subtotal will appear in the subtotal column.
  10. If you wish to add any additional details outside of the default view, click the icon at the top-right to see all available columns.
